Ethan Schwartz

Portfolio Manager, Distressed Credit

Mr. Schwartz is an executive vice president and portfolio manager in the New York office, focusing on distressed and opportunistic credit investments. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2014, he was a senior vice president and assistant portfolio manager at Contrarian Capital, where he helped oversee a group of funds investing in distressed and bankruptcy-based investment opportunities. Previously, he was a distressed credit and high yield analyst at CRT Capital Group. Earlier in his career, he worked at Tribeca Investments and Goldman Sachs. Prior to his investing career, Mr. Schwartz was a professional journalist, writing for the Washington Post and the New York Times. He is also a member of the board of directors of the New York Common Pantry. He has 19 years of investment experience and holds a law degree from Yale Law School and an undergraduate degree from Yale College.
